Corks A Popping…
Last week Richard and I stepped through Greedo’s door in Lymington for a wine tasting hosted by The Solent Cellar, unsure of what we would be tasting but knowing we wanted to be inspired – tricky customers!
With six tables set up, each with its own sommelier, there was a vast selection of wines to try and learn about and it was fascinating to see how much of a difference the food really does make. Under the careful instruction of the experts we sampled a bottle of Zuccardi Q Chardonnay. Though not what we expected for a white wine with its oak undertones, when tasted with a chicken dish we were both pleasantly surprised – inspired indeed.
A favorite of mine was a fantastic full-bodied red from Spain. It caught my attention with the first sip and didn’t disappoint. I will leave however the sherry tasting to Richard…
Thank you, Heather and Simon at The Solent Cellar for a lovely evening full of inspiration, wine and interesting people. Thank you also to Greedo’s for the delicious food.
Looking forward to your next event!
