We were lucky enough to be invited by one of our surface suppliers, Cosentino, to their headquarters in Spain to experience their production process and to view the new ranges released in 2019.
Mark and kevin looked after our group of eight very well and when we weren’t busy taking it all in it was great to relax in the sun, chat amongst our fellow designers and to see the different approaches everyone had.
On the Tuesday our tour began! We were welcomed at the Cosentino headquarters by one of the many passionate guides who took us around the retrospective factories for the quartz, granite and dekton products. What continued to amaze us was the scale and efficiency of their operation that ran from the quarry stage right through to the finished product.
What particularly impressed me was not only the finish on the SENSA range of granite worksurfaces, enabling a better durability and stain proofing, but the quality and range of pattern within their natural stone collection was beautiful – Negro Marquina was a favorite of Richards.
It was very interesting indeed to see Dekton’s new range of 4mm surfaces. This ultracompact surface would be great for all sorts of surfaces beyond worktops and you can see the nine colours of this range in our showroom. The production of this material was amazing to watch as it only took 5-10 seconds to compress the material into its form. Both Richard and I are very excited. Looking forward to embracing its possibilities…
A thoroughly detailed and enjoyable visit. Thank you Cosentino and specifically to Mark and Kevin who looked after us so well.
If you would like to see a full range of their surfaces then pop into our Showroom…
